Achievements and Growth
The institute enrollment has grown from a handful of 28 students at its inception in 2008 to the current over 1500 students in all its branches and the main campus.
The Institute has so far trained a big number of students since its inception who are both self-employed or working with public and private sector. A large number of the said are working with the County governments’ in the region.
This year alone 200 students graduated in KNEC program while 688 students at various levels are due to graduate on 17th December, 2014 under Gretsa University. Open and Distance Learning (ODL) program had share of 15 students in this cohort.
There are 70 students pursuing certificates and Diplomas in various specialization under The East Africa University who are set to graduate in March, 2015.
The Sandwich program conducted in the refugees” camps for students sponsored by NGOs attracted many self-sponsored trainees which enormous increased the enrollment of the same. The provision of quality training offered by the institute coupled with the diverse field for spoil significantly contributed to an over increase I enrollment.
Value addition programmers for improving personal competencies for students beside their regular training courses such as career guidance and counseling, computer training, academic visits among others enhanced retention and completion level of trainees besides giving them a competitive edge in the labor market.
Financial and Assets Growth
The institute has seen rise in assets to the value of 100, 000, 000 including the assorted equipment’s, land and buildings Fittings and Fixtures. The four main campuses at Garissa, Wajir , Moyale and Mombasa have well-furnished learning resources centre while the managements’ plan of putting up a three story complex is scheduled to be commence in Garissa next to the District Headquarters by January ,2015.
